今天是World Read Aloud Day（世界朗讀日），為孩子讀一本書吧!

Kate DiCamillo (凱特‧狄卡密歐) 是我和孩子非常喜歡的青少年小說作家，Because of Winn-Dixie (傻狗溫迪克)、The Tale of Despereaux (雙鼠記)、Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures (會寫詩的神奇小松鼠)、The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane (愛德華的神奇旅行)…都是她很精彩的作品，前三本還得過紐伯瑞文學獎。

她除了筆耕不輟，也非常認同、鼓吹大人為孩子讀書。因為一直持續為自己的孩子、別人的孩子讀書，所以她說的這些話，我都深深有感與認同。

她說：

"Again and again, as people come through the line to get their books signed, they tell me how someone read a particular story to them, and why it mattered.

And it does matter.

You people who read aloud—you are providing comfort, hope, light.

You are changing lives."

「Billionaire Boy」 (中譯：《小鬼富翁》，大衛．威廉的成長小說)

「那本你不是很久以前看過了嗎? 怎麼想到了?」我爬上樓梯挪開前排的書，抽出兒子要找的那一本。
